You Get Me...

Sorry that it's been a while since I've posted something on here. I have quite a bit to update you all on though! Back in August, I started talking to a really great guy who I've actually known since Jr. High and High School. His name is Christian Parra, but he goes by Chris :) We'd talked previously before, but just as friends on FB and whatnot. He took the time to really get to know me and we found that we had quite a lot in common. So we continued talking and getting to know each other, and he drove all the way up here from Bakersfield in October to see me (we hadn't seen each other since high school). The whole weekend he was up here went so great! We hit it off and decided we wanted to make things official, we could feel that we had a really strong connection even more so in person. So a week after that, we went on a cruise with his family. I had gotten my passport (which is a whole other story lol), and I had gotten the time off of work. I hadn't been on a REAL relaxing vacation in years! The weekend I flew back home, he met my family and I met his. Monica and Ezra met him the first night I was back, and as soon as he left, Monica told me she approved! It seems that Shelby took a liking to him too! I met his family Sunday and he told me they really liked me, even though it was kind of hard to talk to them (they speak mostly Spanish--but it's a good thing, so I can practice more). He also met my grandma Pat that Sunday and she seemed to take a liking to him! The cruise was so much fun! There was so much food, and lots of entertainment...even in just watching others dance around haha. We talked a lot on the cruise and told each other how we feel and that we see a future together. We have the same goals, have a really strong connection, love each other and want the same things! He even wants to get married in the temple with me :) Long story short, I'm moving back to Bakersfield this Spring and I'll more than likely live with my family until we plan to get married. I'd move sooner, except for my one-year lease for my apartment isn't up until March. I'm a little nervous to move back, because I've lived on my own for so long and I'm afraid it'll be hard for me to find another great job, like the one I've had here for the last 5+ years. I've prayed about everything, and I know that's what I'm supposed to do right now. Plus, my family's there along with Chris and some great friends from high school. We don't plan on living there forever, just temporarily. We'd like to move to the coast or to Texas, for his career, at a later date. I've already told my family and most of my friends our plans and they seem really happy for me! I couldn't ask for a better guy. He really makes me happy, wants the best for me, brings out the best in me, understands me, loves me for who I am, and he's just an all-around great guy! He's caring, loving, smart, he can make me laugh, and is very patient with me. I think the fact that he wanted to get to really know me, took the time, and really understands me is the reason I fell in love with him. I understand him too, we think similarly :) It's so crazy to think that just 4 months ago I'd given up on ever finding anyone and didn't care about dating anymore...it's like they say, "It happens when you least expect it." and "When you know, you just know." It's kind of mind-boggling to me, because it happened so fast and I've known him since we were both 12! It's a long-distance relationship for the next 5-6 months, but I know we're both strong and it'll just strengthen our relationship even more!

A Few Random Thoughts:

--The title of this blog is a song by Michelle Branch that reminds me of Chris :)
--Today was the first snow fall of the winter, and it's freezing outside!
--I wanna go on another cruise!
--I really miss Chris, as I'm posting this blog :(
--I am SO grateful for Skype so I can chat with him!
--I'm grateful for my family and for everything they do for me!
--I miss my brother and sister too. But I get to see them this month for Thanksgiving :)
--I also get to see my niece, Ellie!
--New Favorite TV show: Once Upon A Time
--I just bought Kelly Clarkson's newest CD and it's really good...but why are most of her songs sad and depressing?? :(
--Breaking Dawn Part 1 comes out this month! Chris says he'll take me to see it when I'm in town, woot! Can't wait! The fourth book is my favorite :)

The weekend he came up, we all went to a Haunted Circus in Draper...it was lots of fun! (From left to right: Steve, Andrea, Marissa, Seth, me, Chris, Bri and Chris)

That weekend we spent a lot of time out and about...we went to Ikea and the Gateway in SLC. As we were passing the Build-A-Bear there and I told him I'd never been inside the store or gotten one. He said we should go look around and then he told me to pick one out, so I picked out this super soft bunny :) Since there's a birth certificate for the bunny, we named her Skie (Sky)! He's such a sweet guy! :)

On a boat that took us to Catalina Island...on the cruise :) Me and Chris!

The huge ship we were on...Paradise Carnival ship :)

Again, on Catalina Island :) Me and Chris!

On the cruise. This was Tuesday night, before we went to dinner at the fancy Elation restaurant. We had to dress up--it was mandatory!

On Wednesday night goofing around and taking pictures on top of the ship :)

In line for the Star Wars 3D ride, at Disneyland :) Yes, we went to Disneyland RIGHT after the cruise!

Chris and I at Disneyland! Don't ya love my Minnie Mouse ears?? :)

Tiffany, I am so happy for you! Love totally does hit you unexpectedly and did for me completely. I wasn't even interested in relationships and marriage and Gary literally popped out of nowhere. It's so great to see you happy. You are a super cute couple!

The cruise and Disneyland sounds like so much fun! Vacations are always awesome, no matter what.

Long distance can definitely be a good thing. Gary and I saw each other once per week or less for the first 10 months of our relationship, but it was wonderful because we didn't get too clingy and ruin our chances of a good temple marriage.

Best of luck to your future, and may many blessings come your way!
