45 Things...

This is a forward I got from someone at work. I think it has good advice in it!

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me.

It is the most-requested column I've ever written."

1.
Life isn't fair, but

it's still good.

2.
When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3.
Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

4.
Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and

parents will. Stay in touch.

5.
Pay off your credit cards every month.

6.
You don't have to win every argument. Agree to

disagree.

7.
Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying

alone.

8.
It's OK to get angry sometimes, everyone does.

9.
Save for retirement starting with your first

paycheck..

10.
When it comes to chocolate, resistance

is futile.

11.
Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the

present.

12.
It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13.
Don't compare your life to others. You

have no idea what their journey is all about.

14.
If a relationship has to be a secret, you

shouldn't be in it.

15.
Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never

blinks.

16.
Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17.
Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful

or joyful.

18.
Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you

stronger.

19.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to

you and no one else.

20.
When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no

for an answer.

21.
Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save

it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22.
Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23.
Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear

purple.

24.
The most important organ is the brain.

25.
No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26.
Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In

five years, will this matter?'

27.
Always choose life.

28.
Forgive everyone everything.

29.
What other people think of you is none of your

business.

30.
Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31.
However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32.
Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33.
Believe in miracles.

34.
God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did

or didn't do.

35.
Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36.
Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

37.
Your children get only one childhood.

38.
All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39.

Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting

everywhere.

40.

If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's,we'd grab

ours back.

41.

Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you

need.

42.

The best is yet to come.

43.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show

up.

44.

Yield.

45.

Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

What I'm Thankful For...

So I totally meant to post a blog on Thursday about everything I was thankful for, but never got around to it. Here's the list of EVERYTHING I am thankful for:

First of all, My FAMILY--
If it wasn't for my family, I don't where I'd be today. Shelby and Monica did such a fine job at raising us, even though they were very strict at times. But sometimes, being strict has it's benefits. I look up to them for how strong they were to take us in and do it all, like they did. I definitely couldn't see myself in their shoes when I was 21. Keri was always an example to me of what I should've been doing, whether it was my homework when she was or how patient she was with school and everything. I don't know how she did it all, but thank you Keri for your example and being a great sister to me! Brian, even though we were always arguing and fighting I still loved doing things with you. Remember when we'd play Monopoly or Battle Ship? Those were good times :) And I always love talking to you and when you visit me, or we get to go somewhere, you are such a fun brother! Jacob, you are such a smart, loving kid =) You are so sweet and mellow, and I loved reading books to you and making you "homework" when you were younger. Ezra, I love how crazy you can get! But you are still so loving and sweet :) I know you got your craziness from your dad, Shelby lol, there's no doubt about that, but it's fun to watch you sometimes and play games like Connect 4, even though you always won ;) I'm also thankful to all my other family members: Grandma Pat, Goergina, and everyone else! I love you all and thanks for being soo great! ;)

My FRIENDS--
f I didn't have the friends I had, I would feel so alone sometimes. They are always there to cheer me up, or make me laugh when I feel lonely and unsure. They are such fun people and I love them all for it! Kyleigh is always there to do something or go somewhere with me when I need to get out of the house or get my mind off something, and I can always talk to her about anything. Beth is always there to lend a listening ear, and has been my longest friend up here in Utah. I'm so glad that we are still good friends! Bridgette is such a fun, cute girl and it's soo fun to tease her sometimes, because of the way she acts :) She's always willing to drive up here from Layton to talk or keep me company when no one else will. She really helped me out last year when I was having a really hard time and had no family to lean on. Megan was always there for me, during my first few years of school and helped me deal with certain issues and gave me great advice. I'm glad I will get to go see her this January and her adorable kids :) Becca is ALWAYS there for me, even when she doesn't have the time or energy. She is like a sister to me, and always talks to me when I need it. I look up to her, and I don't know how she does it all; she's got two toddlers, works full-time, AND goes to school full-time! I couldn't be in her shoes, I can't even imagine how hard it can be for her sometimes, but she's a strong girl, puts her family first, and I admire her for it. Amy is my amazing roommate that has a really busy schedule as well and she always finds time to talk with me. She is the best roommate I've ever had, no joke. We've NEVER had an argument and she cleans up after herself :) She's getting hitched this next month and I'm sad to lose her as a roommate, but glad I gained her as a friend! To all my other friends, thanks for always being there, even if it was just to talk or go see a movie when I needed someone!

TYLER--
Ever since I've met Tyler, I haven't been lonely, like I was. He is like my best friend and I enjoy spending time with him, and even his family! He always cracks me up and likes to tease me :) I like that he is for the most part, always in a good mood and just being around him, lifts my mood. Thank you Tyler for being soo great, and doing all that you do!! ;)

KENNA, my bunny--
This little creature always brightens my day, and makes me laugh. She is soo curious, energetic, and adorable! Most of the things she does, makes me smile or laugh. I'm glad I adopted her :)

THE CHURCH--
I'm glad I have the church in my life. Without it, I wouldn't know who I really am or have standards to follow. I also wouldn't have the chance to look forward to going to the Temple one day, which is one of my big goals!

My JOB--
Even though my job can be stressful and even annoying at times, I am thankful for it. Most people don't have jobs, or have sucky jobs due to the economy, and I'm soo glad I still have this job :) I'm glad I get two pay checks a month, so I can pay my bills, rent and even buy a few nice things for myself or others!

The VAMPIRE DIARIES--
I LOVE this book series and tv show!

My IPOD--
I love music and my ipod holds a ton of music! Music always makes me feel better and feel less stressed out when I'm having a hard day.

There are many more things I'm thankful for, but I have to get ready for work. Also, thank you to all of those that read this blog and even sometimes leave comments! I love getting comments and knowing that others care about me and what goes on in my life! THANK YOU!! =)

In Other News: TwO iS bEtTeR tHaN oNe

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted a blog on here. I do have some great news though! I've been dating someone for the last 2 months and I want to tell you about him! His name is Tyler Hardy and I met him through my friend, Holly. She was set on setting us up :) We also work in the same building, so I get to see him almost everyday. He is almost 24 (Dec. 10th) and he served his Mission in Texas, and speaks Spanish. Random tidbits: He has a large family, and likes to embarress me in public. He also likes to try and tickle me, but I always get him back. He is going into Electrical Engineering and is a genuis when it comes to computers. In fact, in his free time he likes to fix family and friend's computers, whether it be taking them apart or cleaning them out, etc. I really like him and he makes me happy :) He is such a gentleman and always opens doors for me, and asks how I'm doing, etc. I'm glad to have met him, especially when I was about to give up on dating.

In other news, I adopted a baby dwarf bunny from my friend Becca. I named her Kenna, after one of my favorite bands. She is so adorable and sweet, although there are times when she likes to chew on tv and computer cords, but I simply tell her "No" and she stops, it's amazing! She's also litter trained and has a little litter tray in her cage, but she still likes to scatter some of her pellets throughout the cage, as bunnies like to be territorial. When I first brought her home, she was a handful and a little difficult to get used to. Bunnies aren't as easy to hold and pick up as say...a kitten :) But I'm used to her and she's used to me now, so all is good. In another month or two, I will get her fixed. She brings happiness to my friends, roommate and to me :) She's soo funny to watch sometimes, she likes to do a "happy dance" where she runs around in circles and jumps up as she twists her rear end, it's cute.

Also, my friend Beth is pregnant and due in late June, so I'm really excited for her!

Keri and Merrill are having a girl!

I found a new roommate to take Amy's place when she moves out in December, since she's getting hitched! The wedding date is December 29th and I'm helping with the wedding music :) The new roommate's name is Marissa, and she'll move in right after Christmas!

Speaking of Christmas, I plan to go home for a few days with Brian. We talked about it today and we will more than likely leave on the 24th and drive home. But since I have to be back here by the 29th for my fabulous roommate's wedding, we will probably leave on the 27th or 28th :) I'm excited to visit the family and home! Sad that I won't get to see Keri and Merrill though :(

Have a new favorite book series/tv show! It's called The Vampire Diaries! I think I just might like it better than the Twilight series...just thought I'd share that with you all ;)

Here are some pictures of Tyler and the bunny, Kenna :) Enjoy!

Yellowstone Trip and Other Things

So I got to go to Yellowstone National Park and camp there last weekend with all my friends. It was lots of fun, subtract some of the drama that went on and getting no sleep. I got to see Old Faithful and a ton of bison. There were also a ton of different tourists there, I'm pretty sure I heard German, Korean, and many more languages being spoken. Below are some pictures from the trip. I'm also going to post a picture of me and Becca's new puppy, Scout...who is so adorable :) Hope you all are doing wonderful and enjoy!!

Hello Goodbye

It has been quite a month...
I got to see Keri and Merrill a few weeks ago, I met a boy but he's moving to Ohio for the summer (which is kinda sad but we're going to keep in touch), I dyed my hair for $4.00 all by myself, and whatnot.
It looks like I'll be able to be back in school by this Fall semester, although I still have no clue as to what I want to major in so I'm going to go for one semester and see what I want to do so I don't waste money taking classes I may not need in the long run. I also plan to buy my first car in the next few months after I get my Utah liscense. I went to the Federal Building today to get my SSN card since the last one I order was returned to them due to the fact that I had just moved and no longer lived at the apartment I was in when I replaced the last one which had been in my purse when it was stolen almost two years ago.
Anyways, just thought I'd update you all on what's been going on. Below are a few pictures from the last month. Hope everything is going well!!
